About the Department
The Department of Artificial Intelligence is a new department established in 2021 and is fully supported by Catholic University as part of the University Innovation Project in preparation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Artificial intelligence technology is spreading to almost all industries due to the combination of hardware performance improvements that can quickly process large amounts of data and powerful and efficient algorithms that can provide solutions within a limited time. Therefore, in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it is important to utilize artificial intelligence technology to create social and industrial value and improve problem-solving capabilities. The Department of Artificial Intelligence aims to foster convergent talents who can solve social problems in the fields of healthcare, humanities, natural sciences, and arts by utilizing artificial intelligence.
Major Course Guide
Year 1 │ Computers & Programming
Learn about Python, the most fundamental language for machine learning and deep learning. Students can take this class for two semesters, mastering Python through lectures and labs.
Year 2 │ Artificial Intelligence Programming
Learn basic programming methods for designing artificial intelligence. In addition to the theoretical background, students will learn about programming languages and coding methods that are essential for AI through hands-on programming exercises.
Year 3 │ Computer Vision
Learn about methodologies and algorithms for extracting characteristic information from photos and videos. Students will learn the basic principles and applications of computerized processing of visual information to apply to artificial intelligence.
Year 4 │ Medical Artificial Intelligence
This course analyzes medical data generated in the medical field through artificial intelligence techniques to diagnose diseases or monitor health. Among the artificial intelligence techniques learned, students design models suitable for medical data and use them to solve medical problems.
